SMITH SEEKS FLIGHT RECORD
FROM ENGLAND TO AUSTRALIA. HOPES TO LOWER TIME BY A DAY. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 5.5 p.m. Sydney, Sept. 20. In a broadcast message last night on the eve of his projected flight from Australia to London Commodore Kingsford Smith said he hoped to clip 24 hours off Scott’s and Mollison’s records by flying to England in seven and a-half days and returning in eight days and a few hours. He begins from Melbourne on Monday, flying via Oodnadatta and Wyndham. It is understood Kingsford Smith later intends to attempt a solo flight to New Zealand.
