PROVINCE SYSTEM TO END
DECISION IN SOUTH AFRICA. NATIONAL DEFICIT £2,000.000. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 7 p.m. Cape Town, Sept. 18. General Hertzog announces a decision of the Government to abolish the system of provinces in South Africa after the next election. Financial authority will be centralised and a measure of local government instituted. The national Budget is like to show a deficit of £2,000,000 r"d the railways a similar amount.
