The former New Zealand cricketer Dacre is 45th in the batting list with 1354 runs at an average of 32.33. The cricket season has ended and despite being one of the wettest on record has produced the brightest cricket for many years. Although youth was liberally served it cannot be said that the season’s experiments produced many prospective match-winners to recover the ashes from Australia. CROMB REFUSES CLUB OFFER. BOARD WOULD NOT RELEASE HIM London, Sept. 17. Cromb, the New Zealand cricketer, has declined the Farnworth Club’s offer owing to tho New Zealand Board of Control’s refusal to release him.
