WEDDINGS

FAWCETT- NEUSTIIOSKI. • A very ' pretty wedding - was', solemnised at the Stratford Methodist Church •m Wednesday, the contracting parties being Rose Martha, second daughter of Air. J. Neustroski, York Road, Midhirst, and Charles Francis, eldest son of Mrs. A. C. Fawcett, Juliet Street, Stratford. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss. Frances Neustroski, of New Plymouth, while Mr! R. 0. Fawcett, brother of the bridegroom, carried out the duties as best man. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. C. M Roberts, uncle of the bridegroom. About 4(1 guests were entertained at breakfast, where the usual toasts were honoured. The happy couple later left by car for Auckland, where the honeymoon will be spent.

DOWDEN-MILNE.-

A very pretty wedding of wide interest was solemnised at tlie Waikaia, Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, August 10, when Effie, daughter of .Mrs. Milne, Waikaia, and the late Mr. John Milne, was married by the Rev. .R. Fergusson Fish to Walter Charles, youngest son of Air. and Mrs. A. Dowden, Patea. The church had been tastefully decorated by friends of the bride, and the bridal party stood under a large white wedding bell. The bride looked charming in a handsome gown of ivory silk chenille velvet, made long and perfectly plain. An embroidered silk veil, the gift of the bridesmaid, caught at the sides with a posy of orange bloslun,. and d shower bouquet completed a charming ensemble. She also wore a necklet of rhinestones, the gift of the • bridegroom. ' Miss Rita Wallis,- Go-re, who attended ' as bridesmaid, wore a frock of-' coral' floral taffetas, with georgette coatee and' pretty hat of lace crinoline.' She also carried a shower bouquet. The bride’s' little niece, Georgette Sanson,' was the other attendant, and wore a long floral

yvonese taffetas dress with georgette fichu. A floral bandeau twined in her curls and a Victorian posy which she carried completed a quaintly pretty effect. She also wore a gold bangle, the gift of tlie bridegroom. . The bride was escorted! and given away by her father, Mr. J. A, Milne. The best man was Air. I. Al. Milne. Air. Al. J. de Lawrie played the wedding music, and the hymn “The Voice that Breathed O'eiEden” was sung. The subsequent reception, attended by 80 guests, was held in the Masonic Hall, which was decorated with greenery and coloured streamers. Mrs. Milne received her guests wearing a black eilk gown, relieved with white, and a hat of black panne velvet, with a jewelled clip. She carried a bouquet of narcissi, violets and maidenhair fern. The Rev. R. Fergusson Fish presided, and a lengthy toast list was honoured. Later in the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Dowden left for the north for their honeymoon, the latter wearing a smart frock of dark brown celanese marocain, over which was worn a flared coat of the same shade. The home of Mr. 4nd Airs. Dowden will be at Patea.

CLEGG- COLLINGWOOD.

The marriage took place on Thursday, September 3, at .St. Andiewo Church, Inglewood, of Flossie, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Coßip - wood, Kaimata, to Mr. Erie Melville Clessr eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. David Cleog New Plymouth. The officiating Staler ,»» the Ker. S. W. GoMieg. The bride, who was escoited by her father, looked very charming in a gown of white satin. The skirt, which wa-s ankle-length, fell in soft folds. ■ Her exquisite embroidered veil, of softest net, was held in place by pearl orange blossoms. She carried a large spray of freesias and maidenhair fern. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Ruth Collingwood, who looked most attractive in a becoming frock of champagne satin. She wore hat and shoes to tone, and carried a bouquet of iceland poppies. The bridegroom wae attended by his brother, Mr. Keith Clegg, of New Plymouth, as best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at “The Elms,” the home of the bride’s parents. Later the happy couple left for their future home, Mrs. Clegg travelling in a brown ensemble, with hat and shoes to tone.
