URUTI WOMEN’S DIVISION.
The Uruti Women’s Division celebrated its first birthday with a tea on Saturday at the residence of Mrs. J. Smith, 1-8 members being present. Airs. Butt (president) cut the cake which was presented by Mre. Lawrence. The evening passed pleasantly with recitations competitions and music. Letters of congratulation and good wishes were received from Mre. Carter, Hawera (the organiser of the branch) and the local branch of the Farmers’ Union. During the evening a gift was made to Airs. Smith in appreciation' of her kindness in allowing the branch the use of her house for the meetings.
