INGLEWOOD COWS’ SUCCESS
TRIO AVERAGE' TSOLB EAT. Mr. E. J. Clough, Inglewood, has obtained fine results from three of his Jerseys that were placed under C.O.R. test during, the past season. Cytherca’s Twylish Cream, 840.411 b fat, Araminta of Golden Hill, ,726.171 b fat and Holly Oak Frivolity, 666.231 b fat, averaging 750.93 lb fat, have made a record to be proud of; indeed, it is probably a record for tho Dominion. Mr. Clough milks a herd of about 50 pedigrees and grade Jerseys, and these three are typical of the- herd. Taking them individually, Cytherca’s Twylish Cream, in addition to 8401 b fat, produced 14,8911 b milk, an average of over 401 b daily throughout the 365 days. Her monthly production was wondenully consistent, the lowest being July with 60.971 b fat. Cytlierea is of outstanding daily type —lengthy, deep-belied and fine shouldered, carrying an excellent vessel. She is in the three-year-old class and looks like securing the gold medal for tho year’s class leader. Her breeding rather indicates a collection of little known blood lines. Araminta of Golden Hill with 7261 b fat. has exceeded her C.O.R. requirement ■by 3761 b for tho year. She was bred by Mr. T. H. Western, Bell Block, being sired by The Cygnet from Mr.~ G. H. Bell’s great cow Holly Oak Anella, full sister to Holly Oak’s Annie, 10561 b fat. Holly Oak Frivolity, 6861 b fat, became off colour towards the end -of her test, making only 2>l lb fat in the last two months. Her test was- for only 345 .days. At the end of 291 days, she had 66-ilb;. fat- to her- credit. In her best month she made -80.831 b fat, A'a her name implies, she was bred by Mr. John Hale and is also by The Cygnet from the Grannie’s Knight eow Holly Oak Merry Moments. Like the two other cows she is of excellent type and carries a model udder.
