CHILEAN SHIP DELAYED
. THREE OF THE CREW MISSING. POLICE UNAVAILING. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Aug. 26. The Chilean naval training ship General Baquedano did not sail for Valparaiso at 10.30 this morning because at that hour three sailors were missing. The waterfront police conducted a wide search for them but • found no trace. One of the missing is a lad who missed the ship in Sydney. Since then he has had a week’s confinement on bread and water, but ho slipped away yesterday. .The captain, saying that he did not wish to give trouble to the police and Customs officials, postponed the ship’s departure till 7 o’clock to-morrow morning.
