By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.
Ree. 8.10 p.m. Sydney, Aug. 25. Fears were entertained for the safety of the aviator Broadbent, who began a flight round Australia just after midnight on Monday and reached Brisbane and Townsville. He was last seen in the vicinity of Rockhampton the same day.
Searching aeroplanes to-day sighted the aeroplane bogged in the mud on an island in the Styx River 100 miles north of Rockhampton. Later advice was received that Broadbent apparently made a forced landing. He and his machine are uninjured.
