.SQUALLY CONDITIONS AT FIRST.

Wellington, Last Night.
The weather will still be changeable and squally generally, with occasional showers and heavy showers on parts of the west coast. Conditions will improve during to-morrow in most districts. Cool temperatures may be expected. /The depression covering New Zealand is now centred off the east coast of the South Island. An anti-cyclone following it appears likely to pass with its centre to the north. The pressure 'is again falling over Tasmania. Moderate to strong westerly to southerly winds are prabable, still of gale force in the Cook Strait area, hut moderating. Seas will be rather rough on the’west eojst and south of Castlepoint; elsewhere moderate.
