! ' In a bright game played in Pukekura. ■*' Talk yesterday morning a combined ' Tisiting team consisting of the emje?:; gencies from the’ Hutt Valley, haugiiikei and Horowlienua primary school representative teams was defeated -by 11 points to nine by the Taranaki B team.

Shortly after tlie commencement of game the. Combined team pressed and the Rangitikei player Whyman scored. Perno (Hutt Valley) failed from a difficult angle. Taranaki retaliated almost immediately and Adlam •scored but could not convert. Taranaki continued to attack and after a, short period of tight play in the corner Grace forced his way over and scored as he was tackled. Adlam failed to convert. After a back movement which went across the field Julian scored lor Taranaki- in the corner. The kick was ex-

tremely difficult and one which any .1 senior player might be pardoned for missing, but Callison converted with a •powerful kick- and brought the score to .1-I—3 in favour of Taranaki. ' - : . . . In the second half the combined team . made repeated attempts to score and for a good portion of the time had the Taranaki team defending strenuously. .>• At last they were rewarded when.from near' half way Perno received the ball and after putting in a good.run transferred to Whyman. The Rangitikei boy cut but one more man -and with a fine burst of speed scored as he was tackled. Perno failed to convert. The Combined ■ team continued to attack and from a melee «n the line Perno crashed over 'with, a scrum on top of him.
