SHEARING INDUSTRY DISPUTE
WAGE RATES AND PREFERENCE.
By Telegraph.—Press Association.
Wellington, Aug. 25.
A dispute connected with the shearing industry was heard by the Conciliation Council to-day, Mr. Hally presiding. Both employers and workers were applicants for fresh conditions and by common consent the discussion was on the Dominion basis.
It was found impossible to come to terms with regard to a number of the major causes of dispute such as wage rates and preference and it was decided that these and other points be referred to the Arbitration. Court for consideration.
