"Evidently the teacher has nothing t-o hide,” said the secretary of the Auckland Education Board when a letter in reply to one from the board was received from an Otago woman teacher who had applied for a position in the Auckland district without giving, her age. The applicant stated that she was 28, but she did not think her age mattered. “Wo were only afraid she might be close to the retiring age,” said the chairman, Mr. A. Burns.
