PETROL FROM CRUDE OIL
REFINERY AT NEW PLYMOUTH CONTRACT FOR BLENHEIM OUTPUT TO BEGIN REFINING NEXT MONTH Following, upon negotiations with the object of forming a company to erect a refinery at New Plymouth for the manufacture of benzine from crude oil, representations made by the trustees of the proposed company were considered by the directore of ..-the Blenheim Oil Well Reclamation Company, Ltd., and. as a result an agreement was signed yesterday morning for the purchase by the company of the Blenheim production up to five million gallons at 5d a gallon. The intention of the new company, which is at present undergoing preliminary organisation, prior to registration, is to erect a small refinery at Moturoa and to refine the crude oil, putting the benzine on the market for local consumption. The erection of the refinery is not \expected to take long, and the trustees of the company hope to commence refining operations not later than October 1. It is stated that the plant should be capable of dealing with 1200 to 1500 gallons a day.
