WET WEATHER, BECOMING COOLER

By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The weather will be cloudy and unsettled with fairly general rain and some heavy falls in western and southern portions of the South Island. Temperatures will be mild but becoming cooler during to-morrow. A slight anticyclone has crossed , r New Zealai.d with its centre to the north, and barometers’ have been falling to-day with the approach of a rather intense depression from the westward. Moderate to strong northerly winds will rise to gale force in places and back to southerly after from 24 to 36 hours. Seas will become rather rough to rough generally.
