VIEROY’S SUDDEN JOURNEY ARREST OF CONGRESS LEADERS. BOMBAY STOCK EXCHANGE SCARE By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Rcc. II p.m. Delhi, Aug. 21. The Viceroy and Sir James Crerer,. a member of the Executive Council, left Calcutta for Simla suddenly yesterday. The reason is believed to be in connection with developments in the political situation. The news of their departure is coupled with wild rumours. The arrest of a prominent All-India Congress leader has created a scare on the Bombay Exchange, resulting in a heavy slump in values.
