MEN ARRESTED AT TIMARU ALLEGED ATTACK ON CONSTABLE. SEQUEL TO THEFT OF BICYCLES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Timaru, Last Night. As a result of a fracas on the waterfront this afternoon three firemen of the overseas vessel Tahini were arrested on charges of stealing bicycles and assaulting a constable. Two of the men were in town during the afternoon and were seen, it is alleged, to take two bicycles and proceed ill the direction of the port. The owner of one bicycle informed the constable and the pair followed the men to the wharf, where the constable endeavoured to stop them. He had secured the bicycles when the men attacked him.
