The India Office announces that' the Government lias decided to convene a Burma round-table conference and io invite representatives of interests in Burma to meet representatives of the Government and of other parties in Parliament for the purpose of seeking the greatest possible measure of agreement regarding the future constitution of Burma and the relations of Burma, with India. ”
The Burma sub-committee of the Indian round-table conference in January made a recommendation in favour cf • the separation of Burma from ’ India. The primary task of the Burma conference will be to discuss the lines of the constitution for the separate^/Burma. It is intended that the confeteiie'e-elmll asaemble in November. Members of the Government will preside;
