STRATFORD RACING CLUB.

(To the Editor.)

Sir, —My attention has been directed to a letter appearing in your issue of the 14th instant under the non-de-plume of “Phar Lap,” in which the writer accuses the .officials of the Stratford Racing Club of supplying misleading information to the public. Apparently the writer has been a little hasty, and had he read the extended report appearing in your issue of to-day he would have realised that' the position was made perfectly clear. As regards my remarks and also our treasurer’s in connection with Government taxation, I think those who understand racing will agree that our suggestion, 'if acted upon, would give a measure of much needed relief to struggling clubs which at present are finding it most, difficult to continue racing.—l am, etc.,

D. J. MALONE, President.

Stratford, August 14.
