DOMINION POTATOES BANNED
AUSTRALIA MAINTAINS STAND.
RESTRICTION NOT WITHDRAWN

Wellington, Aug. 4. A question concerning the lifting of the embargo on New Zealand potatoes entering Australia was recently asked in the House of Representatives b. Mr. E. J. Howard, and the Minister of Agriculture (Mr. A. J. Murdoch), replied that he was communicating with the Commonwealth authorities on the subject. The Minister announced to-day that he had received a reply from Australia expressing regret that the Commonwealth is unable to accede to the request that the restriction on the importation be withdrawn.
