NEW PLYMOUTH BOROUGH COUNCIL
(To the Editor). Sir, —I see by the issue of Tuesday morning that the petition of certain Fitzroy people to the New Plymouth Borough Council to get rid of the storm water from the front of their properties has been turned down. I am not a bit surprised at the attitude the council has taken in the matter, as not only water stops some people from the entrance to their property, but the borough council could grant to a company rights to cut me off an entrance, allowing them to build on a road, which fronts private property only a chain from high water mark. The rates of this property are some £l3 a year, and I hope Mr. Stainton will substantiate and practise what he preaches and see that these places are seen to. —I am, etc., WANT A FAIR DEAL.
