SCHOOL TEACHER HONOURED
FAREWELL TO MISS HENDERSON. Honouring the 19 years of service Miss Henderson had rendered the ilentral School, New Plymouth, as a teacher, the members of the/Central Home and School Association gave a social evening in St. Mary’s Hall last night. The splendid attendance was evidence of the fact that Miss Hendersqn had won wide esteem for her work in .connection with the school affairs. Mr. F. A.. Coleman expressed the regret of the committee in losing such, a valued member of the staff. Miss Henderson’s te/m of 19 years with the school had been productive of/great results and in no mean way she had confrbiuted to the'high standard the school had attained. Not only in the scholastic side, of the school had she done great work, but her activities had also extended to all branches of the school’s affairs. He trusted her retirement would not njean her severance from the school, and she would always interest herself in its movements. . Tl\e headmaster, Mr. D. P. Evans, said lie had been associated with Miss Henderson for nine years. He had been particularly impressed by the wonderful influence she had over the children, and the discipline of her classes had been exemplary. Miss Feakins presented Miss Henderson with a bouquet on behalf of the Home and School Association, A pleasant evening was spent with dancing and singing. The Peter Pan Orchestra provided the music for the dance items, while the songs of Misses Jones and Ashley were accompanied by Miss Elva Cra\bshaw. Miss Gaustad gave a recitation. Mr. A. E. Sandford was master of ceremony and supper was provided by the ladies of the Home and School Association.
