COLD, SQUALLY WEATHER. By Telasraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Tha weather will be cold, squally and changeable. There will bo showers at times in most districts and heavy rain in places. Snow will fall on the high levels and snow or hail on parts of the plains country in the South Island. There will be many frosts. An anticyclone is advancing across the Tasman iSea, the centre being situated over northern Victoria this morning. There will be south-west to southerly winds moderate to strong generally and in places reaching gale force. Seas will be rather rough to rough in the eastern Tasman Sea. SHIPPING MOVEMENTS. San Francisco, August I.—Arrived: Maunganui, from Wellington. London, August I—Sailed: Remuera, from Southampton for New Zealand ports. Auckland, August 2. —Arrived: Levernbank (1.30 a.m.), from Java. Sailed: Opawa (7 a.m.), for Gisborne. Lyttelton, August 1. —Arrived: Wahine (6.45 a.m.), from Wellington. Sailed: John (10.45 a.m.), for Dunedin; Gale (noon), for Dunedin; Wahine (8.20 p.m.), for Wellington. Lyttelton, August 2.—Arrived: Maori (6.50 a.m.), from Wellington.
