Christchurch, Last Night.

Receipts from Customs duties in Christchurch last month were less by £15,327 than in July, 1930, but showed an increase of £10,074 as compared with last month. The returns for seven months of the year show a decrease of £185,154 as compared with 1930. Details are:—

A record number of bankruptcies, 17, occurred at Christchurch during July. For the .seven months of the year there were 54 bankruptcies, as compared with 31 in the corresponding period of 1930.
