HEALTH INSURANCE BENEFITS. EXPENDITURE NOT JUSTIFIED. British Wireless. Refi. 5.5 p.m. Rugby, July 30. In the course of her reply for the Government in the debate on health insurance in the House of Commons, Afite Susan Lawrence, Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Health, admitted that, making all allowances fdr special circumstances such as unemployment, the growth of expenditure id benefits under the health insurance scheme did not seem to be justified by the health of the nation There was a remarkable number of short illnesses, and the increase of the benefits paid to young men was unexpected. The Minister of Health Mr. Arthur Greenwood, added that he believed tighter administration would lead to a -*nsiderable improvement.
