The Shaw, Savill Co. has received a wireless message from the Tairoa, en route from Townsville, reporting that she expected to reach Bluff at 3.30 p.m. yesterday to commence loading. She is to leave there again next Wednesday for Port Chalmers, New Plymouth, Wanganui and Wellington to complete. ‘ The vessel is due at Wellington on August 16, and is scheduled, to clear Wellington on August 18 for London, via the Panama Canal. Photophone, Ltd., for supplying the mail steamers Majestic, Olympic and Homeric, of the White Star Line, with complete talkie outfits. I'or the last three years silent films have been shown on these, vessels , but talkies- : have now been fitted to keep pace with . the latest developments. The talkies shown will all be pre-release or the latest big successes, and in the case of the Majestic the equipment will consist of R.C.A. type H. Theatre equipment for use in the first class, while type E. Double- Portable Projector will be used in the second class. In the Olympic first and second class and the Homeric first class the latter type will be used.
