NO DECISION REGARDING BANK.

SYDNEY LABOUR DEMONSTRATION.

The State Cabinet was unable to decide tp-day whether to accept the Commonwealth Bank’s terms for taking over the New South Wales State Savings Bank. Sir Robert Gibson, chairman of the Commonwealth Bank, states his board has given Mr. Lang, till noon on Monday to make a final decision.

Mr. J. H. Scullin, Prime Minister, has received a further appeal from Mr. Lang for funds to meet New South Wales’ most urgent obligations. Mr. Scullin has referred the request to the members of the Loan Council. The Governor, Sir Philip Game, and the New South Wales Legislative Council came in for strong condemnation on the Domain at a huge Labour demonstration to-day. The principal speaker was the Premier, Mr. Lang. The meeting passed a resolution protesting against the Legislative Council’s obstruction, mutilation and delaying, of the Government’s legislation, thereby deliberately thwarting the people’s will, and expressing the opinion that the Governor should have accepted the advice of his Ministers by permitting the appointment of a sufficient number of additional councillors to enable the Government to give full effect to its policy, for which a mandate was received at the last election. The crowd of upwards of 60,000 included many thousands of curious.-people who expected excitement, of which there was hone. .
