EXPERT COMMITTEE MI'ETS INTERNATIONAL RANK to act. MAINTENANCE OF. CREDITS. British Wireless. Rugby, July 24. The stage of- the practical application of the decisions reached by the Powers’ London conference with the view to the immediate alleviation of' the. German situation opened to-day when the experts’ committee met. The International Bank at Basle acknowledged the notification from Mr. MacDonald of the Powers’ final declaration concerning the bank, and stated that it was proceeding to give effect to the recommendations without delay. _ The bank has been asked to inquire into the further'financial needs of Germany, after arranging for the maintenance of the present volume of credits, and to study the possibilities of converting a portion of the short-term ci‘edit into long-term credits. The Beamten Bank, at Bremen, has been closed on the ground that it can-not-realise its securities quickly enough to meet calls.
