DOCK ENGINEER CHARGED.
New York, July 17.
With a subphoena in his hand, Trau,<rott Keller, a witness in a civic graft scandals inquiry, leapt under the ww ee of a subway train and was crushed, to For three days Keller, chief engineer of the city’s docks, had been in the witness stand. Until yesterday afternoon he kept telling Judge Seabury how mean it was to connect him with large thefts. This morning he knew that he would be accused of being the fictitious Frank Baxter who collected a £5OOO fee for obtaining a £50,000 pier lease. His salary was £2OOO a year, but auditors found that he collected £lB,OOO a year druing the last three years in levies on dock customers.
