TWO OFFICERS STABBED
OUTRAGE ON INDIAN TRAIN

There was a sensational stabbing incident in Bombay to-day, when two British officers, Lieutenant Hext and Lieutenant Sheenan, were severely wounded. They were travelling to Poona and were attacked while sleeping in the Punjab mail train. Their assailant leapt from the train ar' 1 disappeared in the jungle. Lieutenant Hext later died from his wounds.
Lieutenant Sheehan states that he was awakened by the barking of a dog in the same compartment. He saw two men armed with dabbers who killed the dog and then attacked Lieutenant Hext. Lieutenant Sheehan then jumped from the train.
