WAITARA CHURCH CONCERT

GOOD PROGRAMME AT ST. JOHN’S. The St. John’s Church committee, Waitara, was unfortunate in striking such a wintry night for the annual tea and concert on Thursday. The weather prevented many from attending. After an excellent programme was provided: Dog act, Master Rex Turner’s dog Toi, which could do almost anything but talk; recitation, Miss Hunter; songs, Mr. McDonald; Maori quartette (the Rev. K. Hadfield, Miss Hadfield, Mrs. N. Brown and F. Kapa); recitation, Miss Foreman; songs, Mrs. Belcher; Mrs. B. Foreman; song, the Rev. K. Hadfield. Mr. G. South gave illusionist items. Orchestral selections were played by Miss R. George (piano), Mrs. F. Locke (violin), Mr. H. Wells (violin), Mr. H. West (flute) and Mr. S. Georg© (cornet).
