Gwen, Polly and Ted were extremely surprised when they saw. the angry Pepper emerge from behind'the Screen, and they quickly fled—with Pepper after them. Richard came along just in time to wonder whatever was the matter. It came all right in the end, however, when they explained to Policeman Pepper that it was an accident. But GMren declines to have anything more to do with the game.

Bridegroom: “There’s a bit of a hitch, dear.” Actress Bride: “Why, what’s happened, George?” Bridegroom: “The fellow I arranged to come along to steal the presents says-he wouldn’t take them away as a gift.”
