WELLINGTON GIRL’S DEATH

ACCUSED AGAIN REMANDED COUNSEL SEEKS INFORMATION.' By Telegraph.—Press Association. ■ Wellington, July 23. A further week’s remand was granted to-day by Mr. Page, S.M., in the case against George Errol Coats, charged with murdering Phyllis Avis Symons, whose body was found under a spoil dump at Kilbirnie after extensive excavation by the police. Mr. Treadwell who, with Mr. James, appears for the accused, said he would like to know how many more applications would be made for remands. The task for the Crown and the defence was going to be a very laborious one, and he could do little in preparing the defence for trial until he knew what evidence the police were going to bring forward.

,Sub-Inspector Ward: “I am unable to say at the present time. Perhaps when he appears next week we will be in’ a better position to say.” The court was again packed, and many had to remain outside.
