PARTIES FAIL TO AGREE. AWARD TO BE ASKED FOR.' By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, July *23. No agreement was arrived at at the conference yesterday afternoon between the Sheepowners’ Federation and the Shearers’ Union in regard to an agreement covering the rates of pay for shearers’ work, and application is to be made to the Arbitration 'Court in September for an award. The award and eliding scale agreement which have been in operation for three seasons have expired.
