NEW PLYMOUTH WRESTLING
PINTO MEETS PENCHEFF. The New Plymouth Wrestling Association will open its season at the Coronation Hall on Tuesday evening, July 28, when patrons of this increasingly popular and healthy sport will have the opportunity of witnessing two very clever wrestlers in Pinto and Pencheff in eight ten minute rounds. The., association is to be complimented on arranging this popular match between these two high-class matmen. Both are new arrivals and have already proved themselves to be "the gqods.” Pinto has had one win and one loss with Scotty McDougall. He defeated Demetral at Wellington arid at Christchurch, and wrestled a draw with Kara Pasha. Pencheff, who has only been in the Dominion two weeks, has already had two matches —against Tom Alley at Hastings, and Burmester at Masterton, both matches ending in & draw.. When one considers that most ®of the professional wrestlers in the Dominion to-day weigh from 12 to 15 stone, are as fast in their movements as a lightweight boxer, and can wrestle eight fast and furious ten-minute rounds at the matured age of 40 years, one considers the sport has much to commend it. The popular prices advertised should assure the association of a “bumper house,” and patrons will be well advised to avail themselves of the day sales and ringside plan, which opens to-day at Chum Roberts’, tobacconist, Devon Street.
