LADIES’ GOLF TROPHIES
PRESENTATION TO MRS. OASEY.
To bring two New Zealand golf trophies to Taranaki : is the splendid achievement of Mrs. A. O. Casey, Eltham, and when these were presented to her at the Elthaih Golf Club ball on Monday she received a great ovation from the assemblage. The Aotearoa Cup is a new trophy, donated by Miss M. Payton, secretary of the Ladies’ Golf, Union, for the encouragement of ladies’' golf ' in.’ New Zealand. Thus is the first year of competition, and to the winner each year will be given a miniature..
The'coronation medal competition hats been in existence for 23 years and on the trophy are inscribed the names of some of New Zealand’s most noted lady golfers, but this is the first time on record that the trophy has been won •by a Taranaki,. player.
