BUSY TRIBUNAL

ARBITRATION COURT’S WORK.

FIXT UR ES POSTPON E D

Auckland, July 21

“I am really distressed at. having to put off some of these country fixtures,” commented Mr. Justice Frazer at the opening of the Arbitration Court at Auckland, when a Gisborne case was mentioned. “Perhaps they will get a new court one of these days and then wo will be able to get through the work. ’ The Court has a longer list of fixtures to attend io this session than is usually the case for the reason that in addition to the large batch ot compensation cases close on 40 applications for exemption from the wages “cut” have to be disposed of. Two applications for new awards have been filed, but one relating to the Auckland abattoir and freezing workers has been referred by the consent of the parties to Wellington and finally to Christchurch, where a special Jessioii of the court will be held.
