Three thousand people, admitted by ticket only, attended a meeting of the “New Guard”, at the Sydney Town Hall to-night and heard spirited addresses upon the objects of this recently-formed organisation.
Major Treloar declared the New Guard was not provocative. It was, however, completely organised along military lines to deal with any attempt to stage a revolution or overthrow the present order of things by the dangerous elements now operating in the community.
