MR. POLSON ASKS QUESTION.

Polson (Stratford) is asking the Minister of Agriculture whether he will take steps to secure a conference of fertiliser companies with, a view to securing such reductions in the price of fertilisers in the North Inland as will bring it down to the level of the South Island, where the Dominion Fertiliser Company is selling super-phos-phate (44/45 quality) at main railway points at £4 a ton net and is paying substantial commission to the merchants, while the price in the North Inland is £4 las net cash at the works. “Substantial redactions hy North Island works at east coast ports coinciding with the visit of the southern companies’ representative have also been made,” Mr. Polson said, “but this reduction is not general.”
