LOCAL LEGISLATION BILL. NOTICE OF INTENTION TO INTRODUCE CLAUSES. WHEREAS the New Plymouth Borough Council has at divers times entered into Agreements for the supply of electricity to the Councils of the Boroughs of Inglewood and Waitara and to the Opunake Electric Power Board whose respective districts whilst not adjoining the Borough of New Plymouth do adjoin the' electrical supply area of the New Plymouth Borough . Council AND WHEREAS the said New Plymouth Borough Council has entered into Agreements with The Taranaki Electric Power Board and with the Opunake Electric Power Board for the supply of electricity by the respective Boards to the said Council AND WHEREAS doubts have arisen as to the powers of the parties thereto to enter into, supply electricity, and to make payments under 'the said several Agreements NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the said New Plymouth Borough Council proposes to apply for authority to introduce clauses in the Local Legislation Bill of the present Session of Parliament enacting that the entering into of the said several Agreements, the supply of electricity thereunder and the making of payments thereunder 1 shall be deemed to be and to have been at all times within the powers of the respective parties to such Agreements. The said Agreements may be inspected by any person without- fee at any time during ofiice hours at the Town Clerk’s Office, Municipal Buildings, Liardet Street, New Plymouth. " Objection to such proposed legislation on public or private grounds may be made by any person in writing addressed to the Honourable, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
