WAIKATO STOCK SALES. GOOD DEMAND FOR SHEEP. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Hamilton, July 21. An appreciable increase in values consequent upon a shortage of fat sheep was recorded for fat wethers and owes at the weekly stock sale at Frankton to-day. The competition for prime quality was particularly brisk. The entry of fat lambs, mostly of average sorts, was slower of sale. A large yarding of ox beef came forward and as a result prices declined slightly. No variation on late quotations was experienced for average offerings of fat cows, stores and boners. Values for a larger yarding of pigs were unchanged. Sheep.—Prices advanced Is to 2s per head on last week’s rates. Prime fat wethers sold at up to 19s 3d; fat, 16s Cd to 17s 6d; light fat, 15s; prime heavy ewes, to 16s; ordinary fat, 12s 6d to •14s; forward stoic wethers, to 12s 6d.
