DRASTIC CONDITIONS.

BERLIN BEAUTY CHORUS. Fifteen beautiful girls who enjoy excellent health and who all earn good salaries are the most pitied women in Berlin to-day. They have just signed contracts that during the next 12 months they will not fall in love or gain or lose a pound of flesh. The girls are members of the famous Berlin Winter Garden beauty chorus, and the conditions they have undertaken to observe are the. subject of much comment and commiseration in the German capital, where everybody likes to eat big dinners and where pretty chorus girls have notoriously many chances of attracting rich suitors. “It is going to be a hard task to fulfil the terms of our contract, but we mean to do it,” one of the girls said. ,- it means that wc must weigh ourselves every day, and at the least sign that wc arc putting on flesh we must resort to Turkish baths and vigorous exercise.” But it is the clause about not falling in love that has upset the girls most. “We should not mind going without food so much, but bow can we say we cannot fall in love?” said another of
