FLYING-BOATS FOR GOVERNMENT NAVAL AND PRIVATE SERVICES. British Official Wireless. Rec. 5.5 p.m. Rugby, June 17. The French airman Captain Costes will this week pilot home one of the Calcutta type flying-boats constructed by Shorts 'at Rochester and. purchased by the French Government. An agreement has been reached between Shorts and the Breguet Company for the manufacture under license in Franco of Calcutta boats which the French Government intends to employ in its naval services. French air transport companies operstimr in the Mediterranean aro also ordering Calcutta craft.
