Dissatisfaction at the weak and vac* illating policy of the Government was expressed at a meeting of the committee of the United Provinces 'branch of the European Association. ■Speakers expressed the opinion that it was impossible for Europeafis further to support the Government unless determined measures were adopted to cope with the growing disorders. Mr. J. F. Sale, district magistrate at Cawnpore, who was severely censured recently in connection with the Cawnpore riots, has been replaced by Captain A. W. Ibbotson.
The special bench of the Rangoon High Court has dismissed the appeal of I's men sentenced to death in connection with the rebellion at Dedaye in January.
