THEFT OF £800 PROVED
NAPIER RETIRED FARMER’S LOSS.
ONE OF ACCUSED DISCHARGED.

Peter Reilly, taxi-driver, Napier, was found guilty of the theft of £3OO from James Joseph Leonard, retired farmer. Charles Nunns was discharged by the Chief Justice at the conclusion of the Crown case. The judge stated that there was nothing more than suspicion against Nunns, which could not be taken to the jury.
