LICENSING COMMITTEE
MEETING IN NEW PLYMOUTH. The annual meeting of the Licensing Committee for the district of New Plymouth was held yesterday, when there were present: Messrs. R. W. Tate (chairman), J. McLeod, C. E. Bellringer and W. F. Jenkins. T “As to the hotels', the general reports we have are good,” eaid the chairman. New licenses for old houses were granted William Charles Leech (Waitara Hotel) and Samuel McAfee (Bridge Hotel, Waitara). Renewals were granted as follows: — Harry Holmes (Grosvenor Hotel); Adam Lile (Red House Hotel); Thomas Stanley Jones (White Hart Hotel); Frederick Wallis (Royal Hotel); Michael Fahy (Masonic Hotel, Waitara); Herbert John Lewis Power (Imperial Hotel); Leslie William Watters (Breakwater Hotel),: Edgar Owen Meredith (Terminus Hotel); Walter David Graham (Criterion Hotel).
Wholesale licenses were granted Devine and Co Ltd. (Egmont Street) and Hardwicke and Robertson, Ltd. (Powderham Street).
