Auckland, June 10. “My sympathies are with the children,” said the chairman of the Education Board, Mr. A. Burns, when discussing the position of pupils at Athcnree, near Waihi, who “went on strike” because’the train was too early. The board’s secretary said that the children had to leave home before 7 o’clock to be at the station in case the train was on time, which seldom happened. Parents refused to force the children to go.
