FIREMEN USE GAS-MASKS
fire IN WELLINGTON BUILDING.
THE DAMAGE NOT EXTENSIVE.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. An outbreak of fire in the premises of the Dominion Confectionery Company, Tory Street, last evening was accompanied by such thick, pungent smoke that the' firemen were forced to use masks to attack the seat of the blaze. The fire started in the loft of a threestoried building where a quantity of sacks and coke were stored, and these were burning when the brigade arrived. The outbreak, however, was quickly suppressed once the brigade was able to get at the seat of the trouble, with little damage to the building.
