(By “Moturoa.”) Chopin, who has done well this season, is to be spelled until the spring. • • « * The younger sister to Ammon Ra (Limond-Hyades) has been named Prolyxo. # # * * The New Plymouth gelding Little Doubt ran two fine fourths at Ellerslie, his effort on Monday being his best to date. • « « • Phar Lap is again responsible for placing Night Raid at the top of the list of winning sires in Australia with £27,229. ■«* * • F. Foster led the winning jockeys at Ellerslie and his cheque totals £l3l. With £1 less J. Mcßae is next, and his win on Prince Lu credited W. Rennie with £ll4. « • * Traetarian was very lame after his race at Wingatui on Saturday, and this useful ’chaser may be off the scene for a while. • • • • Master Lu has not done a great deal of racing, his 39 starts resulting in six wins, a second and three thirds. He has won £2375. « • • • The Kilbroney four-year-old Compris has been nominated for the Melbourne Cup, while Concentrate has been entered for the Moonee Valley Cup. « * * * Gay Crest is back in work again at Riccarton after his spell. He looks very bright and is in good fettle to commence his spring preparation. • # • • Few second-class horses have raced more consistently this season than Mahora, 'who has scored on ten occasions. He opened the season as a maiden. The heavy going beat Merry Damon in the Cornwall Handicap, and he and Mister Gamp did not wait for the remaining days of the northern meeting. Mister Gamp was uninjured in his fall, but his party were taking no risks with him. Ridgemount Sold. Ridgemount has been soil by R. Johnson to Mr. T. J. O’Neill, of Wanganui, who races Zarene and Paratoo in partnership with his brother, Mr. P. O’Neill. Ridgemount has been a good winner for Johnson, for whom he won eleven races as well as securing a number of minor platings. Unfortunately Ridgemount has developed into a. moody galloper, though ho can foot it with the best when inclined. Stonyhurst Yearlings. A hatch of Stonyhurst foals has been named, a glance through the list showing tho usual admirable selections associated with the Clifford racing establishment.
