WARM OVATION GIVEN KING PICTURESQUE CEREMONIAL DISTINGUISHED VISITORS IMMENSE CROWD ATTENDS British Official Wireless. Rec. 5.5 p.m. Rugby, June 6. Tlie annual ceremony of trooping the colours took place in bright sunshine on the Horse Guards Parade this morning. An immense crowd witnessed the picturesque ceremonial, which was also watched by the Queen, Princess Mary, the Duchess of York and the glandchildren of the King and Queen. When the King rode on to the parade ground accompanied by his sons, the Prince of Wales, the Duke of York and the Duke of Gloucester, the cheers which followed His Majesty along the Mall were vigorously taken up. The. Earl of Harewood also rode with the King, and his cousin, Prince Arthur of Connaught, and Major-General the Earl of Athlone, brother of Queen Mary, attended. Among the the distinguished foreign visitors who witnessed the ceremony were the German statesmen Dr. Bruening and Dr. Curtius. There was a total of 67 officers and about 1800 other ranks participating in the ceremonies and the music was played by the bands of the Royal Horse, Grenadier, Coldstream, Scots, Irish and Welsh Guards, and by drums, fifes and pipers of the Guards regiments.
