By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Charged with using premises at Herne Bay as a common gaming house, Gertrude Lily Newman, aged 35, appeared at the Police Court. Two detectives visited the house on Saturday morning and were there for 25 minutes. The telephone rang almost continuously, anid 25 bets, ranging from ss. to £o, were td The police stated that accused had been carrying on in a fairly large way. She was fined £25.
